While you watch an episode, Tentacle shows “Skip intro” during the opening and “Skip credits” at the end. To know where they are, Jellyfin needs three free plugins, which Tentacle installs and sets up for you:Pendant un épisode, Tentacle affiche « Passer l’intro » pendant le générique de début et « Passer le générique » à la fin. New Jellyfin: it is done during the installation, automatically. Jellyfin restarts onceJellyfin redémarre une fois
A plugin only loads when Jellyfin restarts. Tentacle restarts it once, and never during playback: if someone is watching, it waits. The screen then says “Jellyfin restarted and is responding again”.Un greffon ne se charge qu’au redémarrage de Jellyfin. Tentacle le redémarre une fois, et jamais pendant une lecture : si quelqu’un regarde, il attend. L’écran dit alors « Jellyfin a redémarré et répond de nouveau ».

Intro Skipper can also listen to every episode to find intros. It works, but it keeps the machine busy for hours on a big library. Tentacle turns it off and relies on the online databases. You can turn it on in Tentacle › Administration › Services if you want.Intro Skipper peut aussi écouter chaque épisode pour trouver les intros. Ça marche, mais ça occupe la machine des heures sur une grosse bibliothèque. Tentacle la coupe et s’appuie sur les bases en ligne. A plugin repository that does not answer, a plugin without a version for this Jellyfin version: each case is said in plain words (“repository offline”, “not available”, “too old”), and the setup continues. Retry later from Administration › Services › “Install / repair”.Un dépôt de greffons qui ne répond pas, un greffon sans version pour cette version de Jellyfin : chaque cas est dit en mots simples (« dépôt hors ligne », « indisponible », « trop ancien »), et l’installation continue. The timestamps arrive progressively: online databases cover popular shows first. Recent or rare episodes may have none.
Les horodatages arrivent peu à peu : les bases en ligne couvrent d’abord les séries connues. Des épisodes récents ou rares peuvent ne pas en avoir.
Does it send my library to the Internet?Cela envoie-t-il ma bibliothèque sur Internet ?
The plugins ask the online databases for the timestamps of your titles (by their public identifiers). No video leaves your machine.
Les greffons demandent aux bases en ligne les horodatages de vos titres (par leurs identifiants publics). Aucune vidéo ne quitte votre machine.
Can I remove them?Puis-je les retirer ?
Yes, in Jellyfin › Dashboard › Plugins. The skip buttons simply disappear.
